Announcing the 2024 PGH NTMA/MSC Apprentice Competition!

Register your apprentice for a battle of the title of The Best Metal Working Apprentice in Southwestern, PA!
The competition tests hands-on performance in setting up and operating machine tools, including a manual milled part and a manual turned part produced to specifications. A third component is a written examination to assess content knowledge. A point system based on knowledge, skill and efficiency will determine the winner, who will receive:
- H. Gerstner & Sons Classic Tool Chest (Estimated value – over $1,500)
- The title, The Best Metal Working Apprentice in Southwestern, PA!
Eligibility Requirements:
- Any apprentice of the Pittsburgh Chapter NTMA Apprenticeship Program or any apprentice employed at a NTMA Member Company.
- Year 1 & Year 2 apprentices must have earned at least 5 NIMS credentials to qualify.
- No more than 2 apprentices per company may compete.
All competitors will be invited to the NTMA Banquet on June 5, 2024 where the winner will be announced!
Competition space is limited to 8 competitors so get your registration forms in ASAP! (First preference will be given to Year 4 apprentices.)
